Marching to Eliminate the Academic Achievement Gap
{ "Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals."
MLK365 is proud to bring you our 32nd Annual MARCH FOR THE DREAM, California's largest Martin Luther King Jr. march taking place on January 21st, 2013.
Attracting a diverse crowd of more than 28,000 very enthusiastic participants from across Northern California, the March for the Dream is more than just a free one day march to honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr.; it's a 365 day awareness and fundraising campaign to eliminate the academic and opportunity achievement gap in our region's schools. With more than a 1.3 million students dropping out of high school each year, it's not enough that we march only to honor the past. We must impact the future!
The March for the Dream is free, but starting this year, marchers will have the opportunity to register and collect pledges to help us eliminate the academic and opportunity achievement gap.
“The road to change is not a race, but it’s a slow and persistent MARCH FORWARD….”
